1.Shortwave Diathermy(S.W.D)
S.W.D works at a wavelength of 11 meters and the frequency is 27.12 megahertz. This machine is mainly used for the treatment of joints deep muscles. It consists of 2 condenser plates and these plates are placed on both side of the treatment part. The Induction coils are also using and it can be molded to fit the part of the body under treatment.
2.Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound is high-frequency sound waves, greater than 20,000Hz. The frequency of the ultrasound machine using in the physiotherapy department is a range of 1-3 MHz.This machine is mainly using to reduce edema, for scars, tissue and ligament injury.
3. Interferential Current Therapy
The four electrodes are placed in such a way the two currents produced cross each other in the affected area. Where the two currents meet, they actually interfere with each other, hence the name "inferential". This modality addresses the issues of pain, spasm, and inflammation.
4. Infrared Rays
I.R.R is a band of light that we perceive as heat.
This therapy effectively helps to increase blood circulation without putting the strain on your heart and increases the levels of oxygen and white blood cells in your blood. it also stimulates the production of collagen in your body and helps to rid your body of toxins by causing you to perspire.
5. Laser Therapy
Light amplification by the stimulated emission of radiation.
It increases healing rate in wounds and burns.Increases regeneration of damaged nerve by stimulating axon sprouting.
6.TRANSCUTANEOUS ELECTRICAL NERVE STIMULATION
TENS is a method of electrical stimulation which primarily aims to provide a degree of symptomatic pain relief by exciting sensory nerves and thereby stimulating either the pain gate mechanism and/or the opioid system.
varies with the clinical pain being treated, but research would suggest that when used ‘well’ it provides significantly greater pain relief than a placebo intervention
PSWT employs the same operating frequency as traditional SWD ie. 27.12MHz. The output from the machine is pulsed such that the ‘on’ time is considerably shorter than the ‘off’ time, thus the mean power delivered to the patient is relatively low even though the peak power (i.e. during the on pulses) can be quite high (typically around 150 – 200 Watts peak power with modern machines, though some still go up to 1000W).
7. Pulsed Shortwave Therapy
Pulsed Shortwave Therapy (PSWT) is a widely used modality.though it is often called Pulsed Electromagnetic Energy (PEME) which is less than fully appropriate in that many modalities come under the heading of PEME, PSWT being only one of them and the use of the term should be avoided. The older term Pulsed Shortwave Diathermy is not really appropriate either in that the modality is not primarily employed as a diathermy (literally ‘through heating’).PSWT employs the same operating frequency as traditional SWD ie.
This is nice blog. When i was searching for Electrotherapy in Bangalore i got Anand Lab. It is also a best centre for Electrotherapy. For more info: http://www.anandlab.com/
ReplyDeleteThe homeopathic understanding of health is intimately connected to its understanding of the mind in general. Homeopaths don't separate the mind and body in the usual way; they generally assume that body and mind are dynamically interconnected and that both directly influence each other. This acknowledgment of the interbond of body and mind is not simply a vague, impractical concept.
